Santa Nella Storm
My trip home from the coast was stormy most of the way as I drove through a lot of wind and rain. Coming in to Santa Nella to stop for gas, I could see this monster front moving down the valley and saw a couple of old barns I thought would make for a nice subject. I took off down a few roads trying to get close enough for a good composition, but each of the barns were far enough out on private property it wasn't possible. I had tried going down an old dirt road next to a canal, but that turned out to be a bad idea as the mud was the kind that built up on my tires and acted like a thick grease when I hit the brakes. I realized sliding into the canal would probably not be the best way to end my day, so I carefully turned around and back tracked my way over to this spot in a much safer location. It was a nice little adventure and has that bohemian in me wanting to hit the road again just to see what I can find down the next long road.
