Landscapes
Layers of Form, Light, and Shadow
It's something I'm always telling students to look for in their compositions. I'd just finished at Mobius Arch and was getting back into my car. There were barely any clouds at sunrise, but then they started to build casting shadows over the peaks. It was really quite strange on this morning as the Sierra were almost completely devoid of color and took on an ash gray appearance. I'd never seen them like this so, of course, I took a couple of shots before leaving. If I didn't need to get home I would have loved staying just to watch the landscape change.
