Giving Thanks in Death Valley
This was the first time I couldn't find any camping in Death Valley and was not about to park in the RV lot. So I went to my go-to spot up at Echo Canyon and lucky me, got my fave campsite. It's actually the first spot with the best view of the valley. It was getting close to sunset and looked really promising but knew I wouldn't have time to get to the dunes or Badwater. Then I got distracted by some cool clouds over Winter's Peak and you know you should never pass up an opportunity. Zabriski would have been a great spot, but I didn't want the crowds so I went just up the road to 20 Mule Team Canyon and scrambled to find a decent shot. Well, I thought this would do and did manage to get a couple more shots as the sky lit up. Aside from the unbelievable crowds, it was definitely a great Thanksgiving weekend.
